Scottish Parliament Elections 6 May 2021

The results for all five Scottish Parliament constituencies in North Lanarkshire and the Central Scotland Region have now been declared.

Results

Coatbridge and Chryston Constituency

Scottish National Party candidate Fulton MacGregor has been elected to serve as a Member of the Scottish Parliament in the Coatbridge and Chryston Constituency, following the election on Thursday 6 May.

The number of votes polled for each candidate was:

  • Leo Francis Lanahan, Scottish Family Party – Promoting Traditional Values (Add votes) - 411
  • Gordon MacDonald, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party – 3,028
  • Mhairi Jane MacDonald, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 622
  • Fulton MacGregor, Scottish National Party (SNP) – 20,577
  • Michael McPake, Scottish Labour Party – 11,140

The total votes cast were 35,891 and the percentage poll was 63.16%. 113 ballot paper were rejected.

Airdrie and Shotts Constituency

Scottish National Party candidate Neil Charles Gray has been elected to serve as a Member of the Scottish Parliament in the Airdrie and Shotts Constituency, following the election on Thursday 6 May.

The number of votes polled for each candidate was:

  • John Arthur Henry Cole, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 562
  • Jimmy Dowson - 132
  • Neil Charles Gray, Scottish National Party (SNP) – 16,139
  • Ross Lambie, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party – 4,422
  • Richard Leonard, Scottish Labour Party – 10,671

The total votes cast were 32,001 and the percentage poll was 59.09%. 75 ballot paper were rejected.

Motherwell and Wishaw Constituency

Scottish National Party candidate Clare Adamson has been elected to serve as a Member of the Scottish Parliament in the Motherwell and Wishaw Constituency, following the election on Thursday 6 May.

The number of votes polled for each candidate was:

  • Clare Adamson, Scottish National Party (SNP) – 18,156
  • Daniel Gerarde Lambe, Communist Party of Britain - 194
  • Mark Meechan, Scottish Libertarian Party - 254
  • Martine Nolan, Scottish Labour Party and Scottish Co-operative Party – 10,343
  • Martin Veart, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 557
  • Nathan Wilson, Scottish Conservative and Unionist – 4,472
  • Neil Wilson, UK Independence Party (UKIP) - 173

The total votes cast were 34,233 and the percentage poll was 58.86%. 84 ballot paper were rejected.

Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Constituency

Scottish National Party candidate Jamie Hepburn has been elected to serve as a Member of the Scottish Parliament in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Constituency, following the election on Thursday 6 May.

The number of votes polled for each candidate was:

  • Elaine Ford, Scottish Liberal Democrats – 678
  • Mark Griffin, Scottish Labour Party – 9,792
  • Jamie Hepburn, Scottish National Party (SNP) – 19,633
  • Haroun Malik, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party – 3,375

The total votes cast were 33,593 and the percentage poll was 65.28%. 115 ballot paper were rejected.

Uddingston and Bellshill Constituency

Scottish National Party candidate Stephanie Callaghan has been elected to serve as a Member of the Scottish Parliament in the Uddingston and Bellshill Constituency, following the election on Thursday 6 May.

The number of votes polled for each candidate was:

  • Dawn Marion Ferguson Allan, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 821
  • Stephanie Callaghan, Scottish National Party (SNP) – 17,953
  • Bryan Flannagan, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party – 4,569
  • Frank McNally, Scottish Labour Party – 12,647

The total votes cast were 36,127 and the percentage poll was 61%. 137 ballot paper were rejected.

Central Scotland Region

The candidates elected to serve as Members of the Scottish Parliament for the Central Scotland Region are:

  • Richard Leonard, Scottish Labour Party
  • Stephen Kerr, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party
  • Monica Lennon, Scottish Labour Party
  • Graham Simpson, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party
  • Mark Griffin, Scottish Labour Party
  • Meghan Gallacher, Scottish Conservative and Unionist
  • Gillian MacKay, Scottish Green Party
