Education & Families HQ and Back Office Staffing Review

Contribution to Council budget strategy to be considered on 26 February 2026.

If this is a budget saving, how will the saving be achieved?

The Education & Families Service will undertake a staffing review of support and back office posts. In particular, the review will focus on posts which are currently vacant and increasing operational synergies in the use of externally funded programmes.

Stakeholders are Education & Families Support and Back Office Teams.  Other staff groups/establishments within the Service who are supported by the Support and Back Office Teams.

Desk top exercise: Review of previous years expenditure profile within these budget areas.  List of current vacancies.  Confirmation of externally funded programmes.

What actions/measures will be put in place or are planned to mitigate any adverse impact or promote equality? 

Not applicable.

What is the result/ recommendations of the EqIA 

Introduce the policy.
