Northern Corridor Local Outcome Improvement Plan highlights

Dunalistair Play Area

Dunalistair Play Area has officially opened in the Northern Corridor.

How did the project come about?

Youth consultations were held with pupils from Stepps Primary School and St. Joseph’s Primary School in 2022 to discuss the young peoples' opinions on Dunalistair Play Area and what they would like to be included within the design of the park.

After the youth consultation, the planning and implementation of the park was completed and an official opening was held 13 December 2024.

The park has received a positive reaction from local people, with the young people enjoying their new play area.

What was the outcome?

The project contributed to the Northern Corridor Community Board Children & Young People LOIP priority and produced several positive outcomes for young people.

In addition to identifying issues of importance to young people, a new play park was created in the Millerston area, providing regular access for families to a local and free facility. This has ensured parents do not have to travel out with their community or pay for access to play/leisure facilities. Playing regularly at the facility will also improve the health and wellbeing of children.
