Youth Consultation
Youth consultations were carried out across the Northern Corridor to indicate what issues are important to young people within this area.
How did the project come about?
Young people across the Northern Corridor indicated their views were rarely considered, including with regard to Local Outcome Improvement Plan (LOIP) priorities.
As a result, a consultation process was initiated by the Community Partnership Team for an initial six-months period. The issue of mental health support was raised as a key issue.
Subsequently, the Community Partnership Team was able to access UK Shared Prosperity Funding to establish a Participatory Budget project within Chryston High School. Mental health was the main theme voted on to spend a £10,000 budget on relevant support projects.
What was the outcome?
Consultation sessions enabled the team to allocate the UK Shared Prosperity Funding budget spend, ensuring to use the Participatory Budget to address mental health, a key issue, as an additional positive outcome.
As a result, children and young people have reported satisfaction with project delivery.
