Improving access through Ravenscraig

Ravenscraig Access Infrastructure North

Upgrading three kilometers of the A723 to provide a dual carriageway and shared footway/cycleway from the New Craig Road junction at Ravenscraig to the M8 at Holytown.

The project

The project in detail

Planning permission was granted in 2013 with a new road-under-rail-bridge at Carfin constructed shortly after, in 2014, to accommodate the southbound lanes of the proposed dual carriageway,

The RAI North project will now deliver the rest of the approved proposal to provide the dual carriageway and cycle/footways with associated drainage and street lighting.

You can view plans and other information on this by using reference number 13/01279/FUL on our online planning system.

What we're doing now

Over the next 12 months we will be carrying out site investigations, concluding surveys and assessments and undertaking further design development to update and finalise the project design.
