Working with a local elected member, the local community and residents, the Community Partnership Team were able to provide support to progress a project idea to upgrade a local play facility. This allowed local people to contribute their ideas for a new facility benefiting the wider community.
The project contributes to the following priorities: Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing, Community Resilience and Participation and Community Safety.
How did the project come about?
What was the outcomes of the project?
Local consultation and engagement was carried out with several households and local school pupils. The play area improvement work had strong local support, with many residents advising that children under their care would use it regularly.
An improved play area can provide children with a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable place to play. It can also benefit the local community by fostering socialisation, creativity, and community spirit.
A £100,000 upgrade was completed to the existing playpark in August 2026.
