Bellshill Community Priorities Highlights 26/27

Our Lives, Our Future, From Evidence to Action Conference 2026

We supported the Our Lives, Our Future, From Evidence to Action Conference at the Bellshill Cultural Centre. The event encouraged residents from diverse communities and backgrounds to share their views and priorities for the next 10 years. The initiative supported LOIP priorities for Bellshill including Poverty and Food insecurity and Community Resilience and Participation by promoting participation in the Community Priorities Consultation and influencing future locality planning.

How did the project come about?

The conference was organised as a follow-up to the Our Lives Conference held in November 2025 and aimed to review progress against identified actions while gathering further resident feedback. Whilst there, we supported engagement activities and promoted the ongoing Community Priorities consultation.

We engaged directly with attendees and residents, encouraged participation in locality planning discussions, distributed free period products, and raised awareness of where these products can be accessed across localities

What was the outcomes of the project?

• Over 60 residents engaged with the Community Priorities consultation.

• Increased resident participation in shaping local priorities and services.

• More than 2,100 free period products distributed.

• Raised awareness of local access points for free period products.

• Strengthened engagement with diverse communities and underrepresented groups.

• Supported Equality Outcomes by ensuring residents' voices contributed to future decision-making.
