Tree of Knowledge

Who are we?

At Tree of Knowledge we passionately believe in the tangible benefits that first-class motivational speaking, inspirational training and effective leadership coaching can bring. We understand that schools, colleges, universities, and businesses prosper when their people are happy, engaged and having fun. We believe that people are more likely to fulfil their dreams when they have good mental health, resilience and feel empowered. Through humour, creativity and a big dose of positive psychology, we can improve the present and help shape a better future for all. That’s why our vision is to inspire the world.

What do we do?

We want to make a difference to the world we live in and to do so, we believe we need to encourage, empower and inspire forthcoming generations. We deliver fun, continuous, sustainable learning that helps pupils, students and teachers share knowledge and collaborate. Covering themes such as leadership, enterprise, mindset, resilience and wellbeing, we passionately want to help schools raise attainment and support young people to help them make the most out of their lives and be the best version of themselves.

What is our session about?

Planet of the Chimps

This course introduces students to the concept of emotional intelligence – a top predictive skill for success – through Dr Steve Peter’s ‘Chimp Paradox’. Students will explore the battle that takes place in our own brains between our ‘Human’ brain and ‘Chimp’ brain. It allows students to explore how they think and feel in different situations and how this can lead them to act, react and behave. There are times when we are all guilty of responding in an emotional or irrational manner and, by the end of this course, students will not only understand why they react like they do sometimes but will also have a range of new skills to help them manage their inner chimp.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand various types of stress and how the different types can affect us both positively and negatively.
  • Understand the concept of the human brain and chimp brain and how they influence our behaviours.
  • Learn how to control our inner chimp.
