Improving access through Ravenscraig

North Lanarkshire Council (Ravenscraig Access Infrastructure South) Compulsory Purchase Order

We are now promoting this Compulsory Purchase Order.

The following information is provided in accordance with the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020, Schedule 6, Part 3, para 9.

The information is for those whose land interests are affected by the North Lanarkshire Council (Ravenscraig Access Infrastructure South) Compulsory Purchase Order 2022.

Those affected will have received notices by letter direct to their registered addresses.

Alongside securing planning permission for the first parts of RAI South, we have been working to acquire the land required for the new connection between Motherwell and Ravenscraig.

Whilst the council now owns, or has agreement with owners and occupiers, for most of the land needed for the new connection, there are some parts where we are yet to reach agreement.

We will continue to try to reach voluntary agreement for all remaining interests, however it is necessary to ensure that we are able to secure all land required for the project.

To support this, in November 2021, the council approved the making of a Compulsory Purchase Order for this first part of the Ravenscraig Access Infrastructure project.

This Compulsory Purchase Order is now being promoted.

In accordance with the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020, Schedule 6, Part 3, para 9, hard copies of the order and plans will not be available for inspection at public display locations.

They can be viewed on this web page instead.
